I love this time of year - lighter days, definite signs of spring, the cabin fever rages ever on, and I get to make my first trip of the year to Ireland, for the Dublin based Ireland Angling Expo this weekend. I am honoured to be asked back by the kind people at Mara Media and I very much hope to see a bunch of you this Saturday and Sunday at the National Show Centre outside of Dublin (near to Swords). If you see me wandering around and trying my best not to be seduced by all the shiny fishing tackle on display and for sale, please come and say hi. I am also doing some lure demonstrations and also taking part in the “Battle of the Anglers” event which was a complete blast last year.
I am really pleased that there is going to be a Fiiish stand for the first time at this show, manned by some friends of mine, and stocked to the rafters with a heap of Fiiish products. If you’ve got any questions about these lures and how to rig and fish them, make sure to visit the Fiiish stand, and no doubt I shall be lurking around there a bit myself - which let’s be honest could actually be a pretty good reason not to drop in! Joking aside, there’s a lot of fishing tackle for sale at this show.
It’s just a great couple of days really, spending time with all kinds of different anglers in a great country (that lost to France last weekend, sorry, had to slip that in), and every time I spend time at this Ireland Angling Expo show I come away with my head buzzing about how much fishing there really is in Ireland, and whilst I find it hard to pull myself away from the bass fishing, I am always left with the such a strong desire to explore more of the coastline. Time and tide………..see you there I hope.
I am hoping that I have managed to sort out the blog subscription thing - a load of people have signed up to receive blog updates via email (check out the form to the right of this blog post), but because I am a bit of a tit, I hadn’t realised that although your names and email addresses were coming to me, notifications of blog updates weren’t then going out. My apologies for this and I do hope it’s sorted out. Have a good weekend, enjoy the lighter days, and here’s to getting back over to Ireland.
